Foodies Festival, Syon Park.

The perfect way to spend a sizzling bank holiday weekend! Sunshine, incredible food, delicious cocktails, great music and the best people.

3cz Nottingham Jerk Chicken Box, so nice we had to do it twice! These guys were favourites at last year’s event and we were over the moon to see them again this time. The crew at 3cz are so lovely, perfect service and food to match. The smoke coming off that jerk chicken is unmatched, and the flavours truly hit just right, caramelised plantain really topped it all off.

Next up we had to match the jerk box up with the stunning Rum Punch courtesy of Saint Aubin rum hut. Saint Aubin is an amazing rum distillery over in Mauritius where everything is made right there on site, they say that to make the best rum the cane should have its feet in the dirt and its head in the distillery, that’s certainly the case here and you can taste the difference!

If you know me you know the fastest way to my heart is great taco and the boys at Nopalito have got it! We went for a classic Chicken Tinga, an Al Pastor with a sweet pop of pineapple chunks that wowed the taste buds and a Campechano steak taco that ticks all the boxes for a taco I’m always on the lookout for! I can’t wait to head over to their brick and mortar cocktail and taco bar over in Brixton to sample their full range.

Time for another liquid tipple and Papis Cocktails mango mojito was just the one, sweet and so aesthetic it hurt to see it off but it had to be done! Honourable mention to Hillery & Son rum punch, another favourite from last year these guys are phenomenal and serve up a punch that lives up to the name!

Classics from Sophie Ellis-Bextor saw off the evening in the most wholesome way. It was so great to see the whole crowd, families, couples, mates and strangers singing and dancing their way into the sunset with the delicious smell of lovingly prepared food on the air, I truly cannot wait for next year!
