The Journey.

“Life, as the most ancient of all metaphors insists, is a journey”
- Jonathan Raban

My journey so far has brought me here, to the beginning of a new adventure, the start of a new chapter.

Travel, exploration and discovery are huge parts of my life, they’re a joy in the everyday that makes it not so everyday. Whether that’s expeditions in destinations abroad ripe with exotic juices ready for picking or adventures closer to home, discovering the sights, sounds, tastes and sensory delights to be found right there under your nose.

If you go out into the world with fresh eyes and an open mind the wonders of the world around will find you a willing recipient.

My next journey is just beginning and it would be a privilege if you came along with me.

Chapter One. (Part Three.)

West Midlands - Coventry.

The burnt orange glow of the setting sun behind me ignites the bare winter branches of the trees which flank my journey. The branches burn brightly in the dimming light of the sky, red and orange the main palette, tinged at the edges with a deep purple running into blue. The trees lining the route of my pilgrimage burn with a sacred fire that flashes back at me, reflected in every clump of fading snow. The road takes me on due east into the coming night, the light fading faster than I could have imagined. I’m chasing a deadline I know I will never make, but the final goal of my journey is one I cannot strike off today’s itinerary, its place in my plans too great to erase.

About Me.

You’re here, thanks for joining me on my journeys, I hope you’re enjoying the ride! Here’s a little about myself to help you get to know me.

I have lived, grown up and been shaped by a life spent in London, a brief hiatus across the other side of the world withstanding, and at this stage of my journey I am lucky enough to be in a position my younger self could only have dreamed of. My daily endeavours centre around broadcast production of the footballing world, an ambition I held from a young age, now my reality. I have a long history in the hospitality industry, it’s the family business and I am forever grateful for the love of all things culinary that it has imbued my life with, my friends think I’m crazy, but food just gets me going as you’ll find out!

When I’m not bouncing around exploring the sights, sounds and smells of the city around me you’ll find me tucked up and away at home testing my cooking ability to the limit and inflicting the results, successful and sometimes not, on those I love. Or, perhaps more likely, deep in a travelogue soaking in the air of exotic travel and climates warmer than the streets I know so intimately.

Once these stories have soaked deep into my bones there’s truly nothing stopping me, subject to bank balance stipulations, from getting out there into the wide world, out into cultures and climates other to those I inhabit and experiencing epic environments, creating tales of my own to tell. You’ll find sprinkled among my retelling of these tales a selection of moments captured forever in film, photography is something which I absolutely love and shooting on film adds that tantalising element of risk and reward which keeps me on my toes, sometimes it bites back but often it adds inexorably to the storytelling.

Growing up I always had a love for writing; mythical tales, swashbuckling adventures through history, jokes, poems and so much more.

Today I focus this love for the written word through my three greatest passions, the things that ignite the fire in my belly and bring out the wonder in my inner child. Travel, History & Food.

So please, join me as I explore the world through these three pillars and challenge myself to explore, discover and dream more than ever before and share these adventures with you all.

Thank you, I hope you enjoy the journey.
